23-25 September Brighton: The British Orthodontic Conference offers dental professionals triple CPD and Brighton “rocks” for Align Technology

The British Orthodontic Conference (BOC) in 2016 is offering dental care professionals a triple offering of CPD. For the first time the parallel programme runs across three days, delivering an "unparalleled" level of CPD.

Richard Jones, Chairman of the British Orthodontic Conference, said that alongside the usual three-day programme for orthodontists there would be a parallel programme for dental care professionals and support teams. These are taking place on each of the three days, delivering a potential 15 hours of CPD.

“We decided to increase the number of sessions for support teams in 2016 to reflect the increasingly important role they play in hospitals and practices. On the Friday we have organised a managerial and practice development session and on Saturday and Sunday there are DCP-specific clinical sessions.”

The BOC early bird deadline is August 26th so orthodontists and their teams still have another two weeks to book for the conference and its social events.

Delegates to BOC gain free entry to the Friday night street festival event in Brighton Dome and on Saturday night there is a banquet with fire and ice and cabaret artists. Said Richard: “All in all, BOC in Brighton has a great offering for everyone in the orthodontic world."

Brighton rocks for Align Technology

On 23 September one of the world’s pre-eminent experts on the Invisalign system, Dr Sam Daher (above) is jetting in from Canada to address the main auditorium of the British Orthodontic Congress at the invitation of the organising committee. Dr Daher’s lecture will focus on the vertical challenge of treating open bites with clear aligners.

In addition to the main Congress lecture Dr Erico Pilapil, senior Clinical Advisor for Align Technology, will be hosting a Skills Clinic on Sunday 25 September at 9.00 am, during which he will offer “Hints and Tips with ClinCheck Software to get the best clinical outcomes”. Jamie Morley, the Company’s General Manager for the UK and Ireland will be addressing a parallel session for allied health professionals on Friday 23 September.

Visitors to the Align Technology stand during the Congress will discover how to use the company’s new 3D ClinCheck Pro software, as well as the benefits of “harnessing advanced digital technology” using the iTero Intraoral Scanner (above). Align Technology will be supporting the BOC Smartphone App which allows Congress delegates to better navigate the multitude of sessions.

Masterful addition

On Monday 26th, immediately following the Congress, Dr Daher will be staying on to host a day long Masterclass focusing on developing advanced skills using the Invisalign system. He will cover clinical aspects – including the treatment of deep bite and teenagers – as well as demonstrating methods for achieving ideal treatment outcomes using the system.

His Masterclass will help delegates learn how to get the best from ClinCheck Pro software, and he will also run a business session on maximising profitability in practice. There will be two interactive breakout sessions which will allow delegates to learn more at first hand from the experts.
Masterclass delegates need to be registered Invisalign Providers and will have received a personal invitation.
