Invisalign Go: nationwide coaching dates for general dental practitioners and practice managers

Forget training, coaching is latest approach to kick start Invisalign in practice. Align Technology has called in two big guns − Dr Raman Aulakh and Dr Barry Buckley − who are amongst the most respected names in Invisalign training, to help general dentists fresh to the Invisalign system get up and running with a new approach to aesthetic teeth straightening. From October, Aligner Consulting will be holding a series of country-wide day-long courses for GDPs, with a parallel session for practice managers, in association with Laura Horton of Horton Consulting.

Those who join the coaching programme will benefit from a blended learning approach to Invisalign accreditation which combines lectures with hands-on training. The programme has been specifically created to help GDPs develop new skills and extend their practices to treat patients with the Invisalign system. The course is also designed to provide practice staff with the impetus to promote the treatment with “fluency and confidence”.

Confidence boosting

However the training is just the start of the process. The aim is to give GDPs sufficient confidence and skills to treat patients with Invisalign after the course. As part of the coaching package, each delegate will be given free mentorship by Drs Raman Aulakh and Barry Buckley; free access to a dedicated forum; and free on-going support. There is also an opportunity to continue to upscale their training by attending more advanced courses.

Previous attendees have attested to Aligner Consulting’s confidence building approach which has been developed by two of the pre-eminent coaches in the UK, if not Europe, who have the clinical and proven business acumen to which others aspire:

Raman Aulakh (above) is a post-graduate tutor at King’s College Dental Institute London on the MSc Programme of Aesthetic Dentistry. Barry Buckley runs clearbraces.ie. Since its launch, this group of practices has started 4,000 cases, making them the number one Invisalign account in Europe for two years running. Barry provides both clinical and management support for the network of GDPs who had no experience of orthodontics before they started with the group. Each now undertakes 100+ cases a year.

The autumn season kick off in Bristol on 8th October and also visits Newcastle, Manchester and runs up until 28th November in London. An extensive 36 city venue programme is being created for 2017. Because of its interactive nature and hands-on element, course places are strictly limited to 40 dentists and 40 accompanying practice managers. The course for GDP and practice manager costs £595 (with no added VAT, but no discount for one person) which includes on-going mentoring, forum access and support. Dentists keen to secure a place at their first choice venue and date need to register online at https://go.alignerconsulting.com/ or call 07879 443 720 before 8th September 2016 to qualify for the 2016 rate.

Since launch they have started 4,000 cases, making them the number 1 Invisalign account in Europe for the last two years running. Barry provides both clinical and management support to the network of dentists in the group who are all GDPs and had no experience whatsoever of any form of orthodontics before they started with the group. On average they each now undertake over 100 cases a year.

Barry has worked as a clinical tutor with CCADS (Californian Centre for Advanced Dental Studies) and has vast experience with full mouth restorative care. His is now a clinical lecturer/tutor for Align Technology.
