FGDP(UK) urges dentists to have their say on future dental research priorities
The Faculty of General Dental Practice UK (FGDP(UK)) is encouraging dentists to help the profession identify priority areas for future research in oral and dental health.
A survey is being conducted by the Priority Setting Partnership for Oral and Dental Health Research (PSP), of which the Faculty is a member, which is working to identify the top ten research priorities for the next decade.
Convened by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the partnership also involves the British Society for Oral and Dental Research, the Dental Schools Council, Public Health England, the Chief Dental Officer for England, and lay and patient representation. Vice-Dean Ian Mills attends on behalf of FGDP(UK).
The group intends to prioritise research questions relating to health promotion, prevention and NHS oral care, covering all age groups of the general population as well as those requiring special care.
