Henry Schein Dental thanks those who donated nearly £4,000 to charity through it's Rewards programme
Henry Schein Dental thanks all those customers who collectively donated nearly £ 4,000 to charitable causes through its Rewards loyalty programme.
In 2016, Henry Schein Dental launched its Rewards loyalty programme in the United Kingdom. Through Rewards, customers earn points for spending on almost all the products and services offered by Henry Schein Dental and Software of Excellence.
They can redeem these points for vouchers to spend with Henry Schein on anything from everyday sundries to events and education programmes, practice analysis, contract cover, equipment, and annual servicing, as well as many of Software of Excellence’s products and services.
In 2017, as part of that programme, customers were given the option of donating their Rewards points to a selection of charitable organisations supported by Henry Schein.
Through the Rewards programme, Henry Schein Dental customers donated nearly £ 4,000 to date to:
• Cancer Research UK, an organisation that focuses on the prevention of cancer, diagnosing it earlier, developing new treatments and optimising current treatments by personalising them and making them even more effective,
• Dentaid, a charity that works to improve access to safe, sustainable and affordable dental care, both in the UK and overseas, and
• Bridge2Aid, an organisation that fights the causes of poverty in some of the poorest communities in the developing world by strengthening local healthcare systems.
Patrick Allen, Managing Director of Henry Schein Dental in the UK, said: “For Henry Schein, it is important to be a reliable partner – to our customers, suppliers and industry partners, but we also commit ourselves long-term and in many ways to our NGO partners.
“Therefore, we added a donation option to our Rewards programme in 2017 giving our customers the opportunity to choose a good cause to support. We are delighted to have raised nearly £ 4000 for charity in the first year and I thank all of our customers who chose that option and decided to help health happen.”
Henry Schein Dental is committed to providing dental and healthcare assistance to those who need it most. As part of the company’s 2017 initiatives the Practice Pink programme offered customers the opportunity to join the fight against cancer by purchasing a range of pink products – an initiative designed to raise awareness for cancer and to support Cancer Research UK.
The company also supported several international organisations through its long-term partnership with the International College of Dentists’ (ICD) Global Visionary Fund (GVF) and donated products to Burmadent, The Vine Trust, Salcet Ugana and many more.
In 2011, Team Schein Members in the UK formed “Henry’s Angels”, a group of volunteers created to help good causes. Since then, Henry’s Angels have organised more than 40 projects with some 400 volunteers donating more than 4,000 hours of their time.
These initiatives are part of Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein. Henry Schein Cares stands on four pillars: engaging Team Schein Members to reach their potential, ensuring accountability by extending ethical business practices to all levels within Henry Schein, promoting environmental sustainability, and expanding access to health care for underserved and at-risk communities around the world.
Health care activities supported by Henry Schein Cares focus on three main areas: advancing wellness, building capacity in the delivery of health care services, and assisting in emergency preparedness and relief. The company’s commitment to charity won the BDIA Industry Award for best corporate responsibility programme in 2017 in the United Kingdom.
