Surrey-based dental technician, Jamie Jessup, became the Badminton World Champion and World Number 1 when he represented Team GB at this year’s World Transplant Games in Mar Del Plata in Argentina.

Sponsored by GC UK, Jamie took silver in the men’s singles and gold in the men’s doubles.

Over 2000 athletes, who have all had life-saving organ transplants, from over 40 different countries were participating at this year’s World Transplant Games.

Jamie said: “I’m so thrilled with the results I got! Words can’t describe how I feel at the moment! I would like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to Chris Brown and GC for their kind generosity with regards to their sponsorship.

“Words cannot express how grateful I am for the help they have given me, to allow me to fulfil my dream and ambition to represent my country and play a sport that has kept me fit and healthy after my kidney transplant.

“It’s also helped me spread the word about organ donation and to show how, after having a transplant, you can still lead a healthy life and do sporting events.”
