Bianca Irish, practice manager at Rodericks Dental’s Westminster House Dental Practice, shares her story
I have been working with Rodericks since August 2015. I love the practice I work in – the dentists at Westminster House are so supportive and helpful, as well as being a really cool group of people. All the receptionists are incredibly hardworking too and the dental nurses always go above and beyond for their dentists and their patients.
I’ve known I wanted to be a dentist since college when I was completing my A-levels and I thought working as a practice manager would give me much needed experience for my university interviews – which it has. I know things now that I never would have learnt if I hadn't worked here first. I have always been very good at sciences and I wanted a career where I could interact with people a lot, which led me down the healthcare route. I chose dentistry because I find it fascinating, very intricate and I like working with my hands.
The dentists in my practice have been invaluable. They have helped me so much with interview preparation, tips on how to perform well, helping me with my written application and generally just being really supportive. A big thank you to Disha and Sarju in particular for that!
I am now looking forward to starting my dental degree at the University of Bristol this September and hope to return to Rodericks in the future, this time as a fully qualified dentist.
